1945 North American P51 Mustang - the “Cadillac of the Sky”… the first Mustang came about on 16th April 1941 and flew on 23rd April, 1941.... The P51 is generally accepted as the definitive Mustang in the finest fighter design to come out of WW11. With the aerodynamic design, laminar flow wing, radiator scoop and potent Merlin engine, it played one the decisive role during the war time over Western Europe. A total of 14,819 planes were produced.
