The Lancaster, an early 4 engine strategic bomber, was the mainstay of the RAF Bomber Command in WW11.  With the massive wingspan, it could carry a bomb load of 22,000 lbs.  After the war, the Lancaster was converted for photo-reconnaissance and was in service up to mid 1980s.  Out of total production of 7,377, only two air-worthy Lancaster's are in the UK and Canada.  Even today, the Lancaster is still considered one of the greatest British aircraft of all time.
