Although originated in USA, the P-47 played an important role to assist the Allied forces during WW11 in Europe.  It was the greatest heavy singe-engine fighter constructed during the war and first flew its test flight on 6th May 1941 and entered service in January 1943.  Its superior qualities in combat, high speed and rate of climb, heavy fire-power and exceptionally sturdy, made it a fine escort and ground-attack bomber.  Total production of 15,600 made it No: 1 in the US aircraft industry.
