The Mosquito, a twin-engine bomber constructed of wood, originated in Britain in 1941. It was the first aircraft to use radar for night interception with great success. It was considered the most versatile combat aircraft during WW11. Great maneuverability and high maximum speed were revealed in the test flights. The Mosquito joined the RAF in May 1942. A total of 7,781 were produced during 1941-1950 and the last Mosquito served the RAF until 1951.
